Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible to be God's inerrant, inspired Word.

We believe that there is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three persons:

  • God (Creator)… is our heavenly Father, infinitely perfect, and intimately acquainted with all our ways.

  • Jesus Christ… our Lord, very God who came in human flesh – the object of our worship and the subject of our praise

  • Holy Spirit… the third member of the God-head, at work convicting, convincing, and comforting.

We believe that because of sin, man is without hope of heaven, apart from the new birth, made possible by the Savior’s death and bodily resurrection – those accepting Jesus Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized.

We believe the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to reach the lost, worship God, be in community with God’s family, help people change to be like Christ, and serve others in Jesus’ name.

We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return, which could occur at any moment – and He will reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords.

We believe that all who have died will be brought back from beyond – believers to everlasting fellowship with God and unbelievers to everlasting separation from God.

FAQ

What do I wear on Sunday?

You’ll find everything from casual clothes to business suits at our Sunday Service.  Come in whatever is comfortable for you, because it's is not about what you look like or what you wear.

What about my children?

Your children are our top priority. If you have a child fifth grade or younger we recommend you arrive a few minutes early to check them into our Kids Clubhouse ministry,. Our nursery is clean, safe and staffed with loving workers. We offer a fantastic children’s ministry as well as opportunities for students from junior high through high school to connect, grow and serve that will be life changing.

Is First Church of God a Denomination?

First Church of God is a contemporary, non-denominational church with ties to the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana.  The Church of God sees itself as a Reformation Movement and its desire to reform the Church to God’s vision, purpose, and Biblical practices.

Why do we have small groups?

At First Church small groups are an important part of our relationship with Christ; in fact we believe you haven’t fully experienced church until you have experienced small group. Groups allow you to meet other members and spur your relationship with God. As First Church grows, small group allows us to stay ā€œsmallā€ and get connected.

How can I get involved in a small group?

Our staff would love to help you get connected into a small group. Feel free to contact the church for more information.
